The Return of Enneagram Panels

People sitting on an enneagram panel

Back in the 90’s, when I first learned about the enneagram, I was not sure if I was a ONE or an EIGHT.  With a few clarifying questions from David Walsh, my teacher, I concluded that I was indeed a ONE and had the bodily tightness to prove it.

After that first workshop, I heard that David was hosting a series of enneagram panels that featured people who had not only been working to understand their numbers, but had done enough work that they could offer insights on how your number can be a path to spiritual growth.   I quickly signed up for as many as I could.

What I found at the ONE panel, was that I was not alone in my struggle to perfect myself and the world around me. Being with other ONEs also helped me see that I could laugh at myself and that my curses were actually gifts that I needed to develop. The panel experience set me on a journey of accepting and loving who I was.

My initial intention for attending other enneagram numbers’ panels was so that I could support (i.e fix) my family and friends when they were caught in their particular flavour of compulsion. Instead of finding ways to fix, I found compassion.  I realized I did not have the “worst” enneagram number. We are all working with patterns and habits that are deeply engrained and to grow, we all need space, time and real support in the form of patience and love.

Starting April 2nd, Carole Dufault and I are hosting a series of nine panel evenings here in Winnipeg.  They will follow the same structure that David used back in the 90’s. People can attend in person or connect through Zoom.  It is a great way to broaden our self-awareness and pick up a few practical tips from some very wise people.

Hope to see you at a panel this spring!
