Burning with the Fire of Discovery
“Come Burn with the Fire of Discovery!”
I have been studying and practicing Gurdjieff Movements for over 15 years and I attend groups and retreats whenever I can. I have found these sacred movements incredibly life-giving. Whenever I practice them, I feel an enormous shift in my state of being. I feel present, calm, less anxious, and I am definitely more awake to my life.
That reactive event this is demanding all my energy and attention, suddenly shrinks to a more realistic size and I am able to work with it in a meaningful way.
On January 27th I began my third year of leading a small group of curious individuals in the practice of Gurdjieff Movements. My desire to share my experience with others has continued to calm me, while others learn to experience their own sense of presence. Those who attend often mention how they find a new way to trust in their own abilities and break down their own reactive patterns.
Our bodies are amazing resources of knowledge and wisdom. Working with them in a conscious way helps us notice the tension and inertia that often keeps us from growing. It takes effort to notice these patterns and that is why Gurdjieff called our self-discovery “The Work”. Through the movement practices, our fatigue vanishes, our bodies feel lighter and our thoughts become clearer. Many who have been practicing for a while would even describe a new confidence that arises.
Many of us will spend hours reading and studying to understand concepts and ideas. This is incredibly important, but our bodies also need to be prepared and educated. We need to get to know these amazing teachers.
If you live in Winnipeg and would like to experience your spiritual work in a whole new way, I invite you to attend one of my Monday evening gatherings and take the first step towards a new way of being present. Details are below.
